The application of frequency converter in permanent magnet air compressor

The characteristics of traditional air compressor drive system:
· It has the property of constant torque, and the shaft power \( PL \) of the motor is directly proportional to the speed n;
· Most of them are in a continuous operating state for a long time, but the load size often changes, which is a continuous variable load;
· The flywheel has a high torque, so a large starting torque is required;
· Few starts, no requirements for acceleration and deceleration time;
· Most of them have automatic unloading and loading devices, during which the load will suddenly change.

The energy-saving principle of variable frequency sleep for air compressors:

Rated exhaust pressure Rated displacement Motor power Total running time Load time No-load rate
0.8 mpa 6.6 m³/min 37 KW 2296 hours 1926 hours 16%
Motor rated current No-load Cur Number of motor poles Motor power (factor) Motor starting method Motor efficiency h
67.9 A 29.5 A 4-pole COSΦ=0.9 Y-Δ depressurization start 0.8722

Screw type air compressor no-load rate: Working within the set air pressure range, operating under load when the pressure is lower than the set pressure. From the above table, it can be seen that the compressor oil is in a no-load state for 16% of the time, which not only wastes energy but also reduces the efficiency factor. Using a frequency converter to control the speed of the air compressor for energy conservation is a relatively scientific control method.
